MIAMI HEAT TO HOST CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION PRESENTED BY HUBLOT
June 25th Event to Feature Parade and Rally
MIAMI – To celebrate winning the 2012 NBA Championship, the Miami HEAT will host a Championship Celebration presented by Hublot on Monday, June 25th beginning at 11:00 a.m. The parade will run through downtown Miami and will be followed by a celebratory rally inside of the AmericanAirlines Arena.
A perimeter will be established around the AmericanAirlines Arena that will be manned by security staff and the Miami Police Department. Only fans that have a ticket to the Championship Celebration will be allowed onto Arena property. Sun Sports will broadcast the parade and rally in a television special scheduled to air beginning at 11:00 a.m. In addition, 790 The Ticket’s Stugotz and Marc Hochmann will host their morning show beginning at 6:00 a.m. live from the Arena. The flagship station will have continuous coverage of the festivities throughout the day. WQBA 1140 AM will also broadcast a live radio show beginning at 7:00 a.m. The celebration will air live on HEAT.com outside the team’s broadcast territory. The MiamiMediaMesh affixed to the front of the Arena will not broadcast the parade or the rally.

Parade
The parade’s one-way route will begin at S.W. 8th Street @ S.W. 2nd Avenue in the financial district of downtown Miami. The parade caravan will head north on Brickell Avenue, across the bridge, curve right onto Biscayne Boulevard and will head North on Biscayne Boulevard. The parade route will end at the AmericanAirlines Arena (N.E. 8th Street). There will not be any sort of presentation on the exterior of the Arena at the conclusion of the parade. No media access will be available once the parade caravan turns onto N.E. 8th Street. A map of the parade route is attached.
Parade Route Media Pits
Four designated media pits will be available to the media along the parade route including:
• S.W. 8th Street @ South Miami Avenue.
• Brickell Park – Brickell Avenue @ S.E. 6th Street (absolutely no live truck parking on the grass).
• The corner of South Biscayne Boulevard near One Miami.
• To the North of Bayfront Park near N.E. 1st Street on Biscayne Boulevard. This is the only location where a set location will be allowed.

Rally
The celebratory rally inside of the AmericanAirlines Arena is a private, ticketed event. Doors to the Arena will open at 9:00 a.m. No admission will be allowed after 10:30 a.m.—no exceptions. Guests are encouraged to arrive early. There will be no public parking on site. Fans attending the rally will view the parade on the HEATV video screen inside the Arena.
Two ticket checkpoints will be set up for fans attending the rally. The ticket checkpoints will be located at the corner of Biscayne Boulevard @ 8th Street and Biscayne Boulevard @ Port Boulevard. Only fans with tickets to the rally will be permitted beyond these two ticket checkpoints.

Media Credentials
Media wishing to cover the rally inside AmericanAirlines Arena must RSVP by having their news directors email a list of ALL crew names by Sunday, June 24 at 12:00 p.m. to Nick Maiorana (nmaiorana@heat.com). Members of the sports media who currently have a 2011-12 season long credential can use that credential to gain access to the Arena for the rally.
On Monday, June 25, a credential desk will be set up beginning at 9:00 a.m. outside the Watson Lot on Port Boulevard. Media credentials will only be available at this location. Media must use the command center to gain access to the building.
No HEAT credential will be issued for the parade route. Media are encouraged to wear their own station/outlet-issued identification.
Satellite Trucks and Microwave Van Parking
Each station will be permitted to park ONE satellite news truck on a designated area on the sidewalk at the bottom of Biscayne Boulevard at N.E. 8th Street. Satellite news trucks must be in place in this location by 5:00 a.m. on Monday, June 25. Live shots may be taken on the west steps of the Arena. The HEAT will also permit each television station to park ONE microwave van in the loading dock area of the arena (Watson Lot). Vans must be on site no later than 8:00 a.m. on Monday, June 25.
Access to the inside of the Arena will be granted starting at 9:00 a.m. but no live shots of the inside of the Arena may take place until 10:30 a.m.
Media Dining
No media dining will provided. However, concession stands will be open for business.
Media Parking
No onsite parking will be available to the media.
Media Seating
Limited media seating will be available in the stands (Sections 112 and 113).
Rally Media Platform
The Arena will be in a concert configuration for the rally. Two camera positions will be available to the media: one on the camera platform at Section 118 and one on a media platform that will be set up on the east side of the Arena floor (back of the house). Additionally, TV cameras and still photographers will be free to roam through the crowd during the event.
Player Interviews
Select HEAT players and front office personnel will be brought into the media interview room after the rally for brief interviews. This will be your only opportunity to interview players or HEAT personnel. Still photographers are welcome.
Technical Information
The HEAT will provide a direct angle pool feed of the festivities on the stage. That will be the ONLY camera that will have a head-on view of the stage. Technical question regarding pool feeds should be directed to Ed Filomia at 786-777-4119.
All stations must register their RF equipment (audio) with the RF coordinator for Sun Sports who will be available at the Arena Sunday, June 24 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and also on the day of the event beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Watson Lot on the South side of the Arena.
The media workroom at AmericanAirlines Arena will be open all day for media wishing to use that space.
A list of the vehicle procession order for the parade has not been determined and will be distributed once it is finalized.
